Meet The Back2Business Team

Maggie Jeans

Back2Business is organised by a joint effort of representatives of some of the business councils here in Oman. Our organising committee is formed by: Maggie Jeans

Arrived at Sultan Qaboos University Oman from Bristol in the UK in January 1990. Recruited as Education Officer for 6 years before becoming owner/Director of Al Manahil International LLC & Educational Consultancy which now specialises in the wholesale import of books for the government and private sector and represents both Oxford & Cambridge University Press and many other publishers throughout the Sultanate.

Coordinator of the British Business Forum in Oman for 10 years and member of the British Ambassador’s Business Group. Chargé de Mission – Muscat Chaîne des Rôtisseurs
Managing agent in the Gulf for 3 international artists
Experienced fund raiser for various organizations including:
Ras Al Hamra Archaeological Dig, Young Musicians of Muscat, British Embassy 40 for 40 project, and raising sponsorship for the monthly BBF meeting.
Other interests include:-
Music and the Royal Opera House (Season ticket holder!), Environmental protection (Member of Environmental Society of Oman), reading, gardening, entertaining, walking with our saluki, boating and swimming in the sea!

Nicole Bradbury-Becx

Nicolina (or Nicole) is a Dutch National original from the South of the The Netherlands. She started in 1988 to the Middle East (Abu Dhabi) with Le Meridien Hotels on a 6 month contract and saw the potential in the Region. She worked as an entrepreneur in the hotel and tourism industry when this region was still in its tourism – infancy.
She was part of the first Abu Dhabi Exhibition Team in conjunction with Brussels International Fair, who established the still ongoing famous exhibitions like IDEX and ADIPEC. After familiarising herself with the ground rules of the economy she joined SESAM Consulting, a division of a German Law firm based in Dubai.

She came in 2006 to Oman with her husband Guy Bradbury ( who works for Lamnalco – Bahwan ) and son Kyle. After working in the Oman tourism and event sector she is since 2010 employed with TAISM, The American International School in Muscat as a PR consultant.

She joined Michel Le Fur in 2008 to assist the EBPG and is still on the board today.

Katrina Pulusan

Katrina Pulusan is in charge of the administrative support for the Back to Business Oman event since 2015. Her responsibilities include, but not limited to organizing working committees meetings, screening suppliers for the event, follow up and coordination of the project tasks among American, British, Australian and European Business groups. Katrina is a focal point for the event tickets sales. She manages registration at the event and responsible for the updates of the event database, website and social media. In addition to all of the above, Katrina has suggested a lot of beneficial ideas and contributed a vast amount of energy, which lead to the events overall success.

She is currently working as Secretary to the General in Grand Hyatt Muscat where she began her career in Food & Beverage service at 2008.

Susan Rae

Susan has recently returned to live in Muscat after seven years in Abu Dhabi. She was the inaugural Austrade representative in Oman from 2002 to 2006, as well as Chair of ANZO.

After two further years with Austrade in Abu Dhabi she was then appointed to the position of Queensland Government Trade & Investment Commissioner for the UAE, and later to the MENA region. In these various roles she has helped numerous Australian businesses to establish in the region, advised Australian exporters on opportunities in the Gulf and promoted inward investment to Australia.

Prior to her move to Oman in 2000 she lived in Tasmania, working in the education sector there and is a graduate of ANU and holds postgraduate qualifications from the University of Canberra.

Stefan Radstrom

Stefan Radstrom, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Muscat has enjoyed over 21 years of working in the luxury hospitality industry in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. During his career, Radstrom successfully opened 10 hotels around the world in countries such as Norway, Russia, Budapest, Poland, Qatar, India and most recently Istanbul.

A highly experienced hotelier, Radstrom studied in the prestigious Cornell University in New York and has accumulated immense knowledge and know-how over the years.

He joined Grand Hyatt Muscat December 2015 and been part of 2016 Back2Business event, taking over from Garry Friend. He is also a Board Member of the Oman American Business Centre.

Sarah Jackson – Oman American Business Center

Sarah Jackson, OABC Executive Director, served on the OABC Board from 2011 – August 2016.  She worked for the U.S. Embassy as Director for the Middle East Partnership Initiative in Oman (2001-2007) and subsequently served as the Country Director for AMIDEAST/Oman (2007-2016), an American non-profit, non-governmental organization providing education and training services throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

Meruyert Shagmanova

Meruyert Shagmanova, OABC Corporate Coordinator, she completed a year-long assignment with AIESEC in Oman, working as the international youth leadership organization’s National Vice President for Brand Experience and Public Relations.  Meruyert has worked for a number of private sector companies in Kazakhstan, including accounting and marketing roles for Imperial Tobacco Kazakhstan, Microsoft Kazakhstan and Mars Kazakhstan.
